UCLA Grand Challenges piece.

I was wanting something that felt very clean, and cinematic to reflect the nature of the work these big brains were focusing. We decided to use Arri Alexa with a 4/3 frame and anamorphic glass to achieve this.

I wanted to program an extremely deep focus master, with layers and layers of specialists collaborating on large problems,  which is a clear literal and figurative reflection of how this process works. Whole project turned out well. Here's a few floor plans and basic lighting set-ups for the piece.

This shoot was a wonderful example of the axiom "90 percent of anything great is choosing the right ingredients".

The website cropped the aspect ratio. http://grandchallenges.ucla.edu
