When Skechers asked Picture+Sound to help them produce a slate of short-form commercials to help them launch their line of Classic Star Wars themed shoes for kids we, ahem jumped at the chance.
The Set Up
With the massive success of the new Star Wars trilogy, Skechers was looking for a way to have their Star Wars shoe line pop. Seems easy, but in a crowded marketplace, selling sneakers that light up and beep is a thing. When Skechers was looking for our inner geek.
The Action
Boatright-Simon Picture+Sound conceived, cast and shot a series of spots featuring hero shoes on kids of diverse backgrounds taking the pair of beepers through their paces.
The Payoff
Disney, and Lucasfilm gave the thumbs up and the spots blew up across the globe and their shoes raced out of stores. Skechers asked Picture+Sound to produce a cluster of Hot Cut films that circulated around the globe.
